A TALENTED twosome take on John Godber’s latest play, his first since setting up his own theatre company in association with Theatre Royal Wakefield.
The Debt Collectors will be staged at Wakefield in October as part of its national tour this autumn.
Rob Hudson and William Ilkley have been cast in the play, which follows two out of work actors who strike it rich in the world of debt recovery.
Frustrated with the acting business Spud (Hudson) and Loz (Ilkley) take up jobs with a debt collection agency, only to discover they have a natural flair for extracting cash.
The Debt Collectors is the first play written by Godber since forming The John Godber Company, and has been produced by the company and Theatre Royal Wakefield as part of a new partnership which will see two major tours of Godber’s work each year.
Rob Hudson’s previous credits include Mike Basset England Manager, Bad Girls, Doctors, Dalziel and Pascoe, Coronation Street, The Vice, Heartbeat, Emmerdale, Peak Practice, Red Riding trilogy, and he also played PC Yorkie Smith in The Bill from 1984 to 89.

With Debt can the debt collectors trace people if the debts from the uk and someone moves abroad?
The debt i have is with natwest bank in the uk and the collector is robinson way and co
If they think its worth the effort, they can FIND you anywhere on the planet. COLLECTING across national borders is a completely different issue.
They have been pursued but whether they have been caught or not, I do not know.
can debt collectors chase uk debt to your address in america. if you have no assets or address in the uk?
can debt collectors take things from your parents house if you don't have any of your current addresses there and none of your possessions there?
1. Yes and no. A UK debt collector cannot in force it rights overseas. But a UK debt can be sold overseas for collection purposes. However this normally happens with quite large debts.
2. Only your goods can be removed and only if your parents address is that on the court order.
They just add the cost of finding you onto your debt.
More likely is that debt collection agencies will sell the debt to each other ad infinitum.
A debt collector can still take action against you in the US, if they can find you that it is. Whether they will take the time and effort or not, depends on the amount of money at stake.
If this all sounds good to you, then being a credit specialist, I urge you to re-think and try to pay your debts. International credit reporting is on the increase and credit reporting companies are operating globally and able to find information out alot easier. Also your credit rating will be damaged for along time so you need to consider whether or not it is worth it in the long run. I am English but moved to the US 1 year ago. I have had an excellant credit rating my whole life and found it very difficult to get credit here, so I assume it would be practically impossible for someone with a bad rating in the UK to get credit in the the US.
The UK debt colleciton law is generally on the "individual's side provided the person shows "reasonable" effort to repay their debts. Often reasonable effort can amount to something as small as 5 pound a week!
If you want further information, let me know how much you owe and I can give you a more informed opinion.
Are Robinson Way and co uk debt collectors able to trace people aborad from the uk?
i Owe 7,000 to nawest bank in the uk even if i move abroad i don'nt think they can inforce a uk ccj in another country
Yes, they can enforce it in another country. You've been asking the same question about Robinson Way for a week now and everyone keeps telling you they can find you.
You have a passport don't you? You have ID? Do you really think you'll be lost out there forever? About the only way you won't be found is if you never use your real name or real identity again. Not all that easy to do.
Don't you think that maybe you should just call Robinson Way and work out some payments and stop sitting on the internet all day long and asking the rest of us where you can hide to avoid paying your bills?
Could Debt Collectors/Creditors be able to chasse a debt that was from the uk of someone moved abroad?
As I have a debt currently with natwest bank in the uk , and the collector is robinson way and co ltd
Yes, this can take time but when they'll get to you (and they will), you'll have to pay even more. You may also be sued and the police may look after you.
Can debt collectors or bank have chance to find person outside uk?
The debts 7,000 uk pounds its with natwest bank and the collector is robinson way and co
Yes they can trace easily. You better hide!
Can creditors/debt collectors in the UK gain access to your medical/benefits records?

I thought only the govt or police could...
No they can't and don't be fooled by what they tell you, they are not the most honest bunch in the world

UK debt collectors trying to recover a 16 year old debt?
My brother just recieved a letter from a debt collection agency (who has obviously bought the debt from Barclaycard) wanting to recover about £1,500.
They sent the letter to my mum's address where he was registered at the time. She opened the first letter by mistake (they have the same initial) and told him what it was. He had thought that the debt had been written off years ago, he is in no position now to pay this amount. Has a family and kids living in rented accomodation.
I suggested to return any further letters, back to sender advising that the person has not lived there since 1995, do you think this will get rid of them? or could anyone advise as to what needs to be done.
Sorry, I should have been clearer, returning the letters "Not at this address" is not a lie, he now lives in scotland and not at mum's address.
I thought these things went out of date after a few (5 to 10) years?! If they don't in the UK, that's stupid - how can anyone keep track of a 16 year old loan for £ 1,500? Don't know UK law though - all I know is I got one of these letters for my dad (my parents are divorced, but he and I have the same initial and surname), I just sent it back: WRONG ADDRESS and havent heard from them since.
He never even lived at the address where I received it, it was right after I moved out of my parents' old house (three years after he'd moved out of there) and I reckon the post office got mistaken and forwarded it to my address since I asked to forward any of my mail from the old address to the new one.
I have done that with all of the letters that came in for him back then, not got any more of these in the last half year now.
Could debt collectors/Creditors be able to chase debts when someone from the uk moves abroad to escape it?
The debts with american express and the collector is robinson way and co ltd the debt acured in the united kingdom
yep, they just pay someone in your new location to collect the debt, and they get a percentage.
Im In Debt in the UK If i moved abroad to say spain would natwest bank or the collectors be able to trace me?
If I informed my family/friends not to tell the debt collectors if they phone the country i will be moving to surly it makes there job a hell lot harder? any thoughts on this?
How many times are you going to ask this question? I have answered it for you and so have several other people? Move on already!
