Asset Class Diversification Doesn't Come Over Night InsideARM
For collection agencies focused on the credit card sector, in most cases, it took them a couple of years or more to obtain the business from one of the Top 5 credit card issuers — the endless phone calls/meetings, dealing with attrition within the recovery department, endless paperwork, meeting data and physical security requirements, obtaining SAS70 or PCI certification, waiting for volume to finally be placed, working their way to better volume that is more collectible, etc. Those that have done it know exactly what I am talking about.
When a collection agency finally lands one, the hope is that it is going to be profitable in 6-9 months and this client will act as the next reference to obtain the next big issuer logo. You go through all of this pain to obtain them as a client and have garnered all of this experience preparing to and then servicing them, now how do you leverage it into another asset class?
Building your brand and establishing yourself as a player in a completely new asset class requires an action plan and a capital commitment on the agency owners’ part. With a different work flow and collection techniques, a whole new set of decision makers to build relationships with, and many other variables, any move will take time.

Debt collectors describe how they do their jobs--and why they prefer calling your relatives and neighbors!

What fees / monies can a debt collector recover if they sue you for a bad debt?
Hypothetically, say I have a $10,000 credit card debt that I haven't paid on in over a year. Let's also say the credit card was originally opened in the state of Washington (and has been subsequently closed) but I have recently relocated to Texas for personal (non-debt related) reasons. The debt gets handed over to a debt collection agency, they hire a law firm (for a $5,000 legal fee), sue to collect and win the lawsuit. Can they recover the legal / attorney fee(s) or are they limited to only the credit card debt? What other fees / monies (if any) can they recover? Interest? "Business" expenses (ie, postage or phone call fees)? Anything else? Please provide as much detail as possible. Thanks!
The collections will try to squeeze out as much as they can from you which includes amount owed plus lawyer fees and all. If the judge rules pay the amount only, then they have to pay for the lawyers. That is why most ppl with debts under 5000 dont get sued simply because the lawyer and court costs may be more than what they collect. If you owe 100,000 rest assure they will hire a lawyer and try to come after you
I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and improve my credit score. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58%.It's legitimate. Icame across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here:
