In these difficult economic times, finding and landing a job has, for many, become very challenging. Recognizing the trend for so many job advertisements to identify ' negotiation skills ' as prerequisites, two experts in the field have joined forces to deliver an intensive training workshop aimed at developing these skills.
Australians Rick Otton and Iven Frangi, in announcing their 'Habits of the Masters of Persuasion' workshop, explain why persuasion techniques and negotiation skills have come to be so highly valued by employers.
"There was a time, not so long ago, where negotiation skills were required for sales staff, human resources and customer service personnel," said Mr Otton. "However these days every person in a workplace is expected to possess them. Negotiation skills make for a happy workplace and satisfied customers."
Dealing positively with conflicting issues and opinions, and using persuasion techniques can, he believes, improves productivity. "There is a real link between effective negotiation and team performance."
